Expansion Units

Camera Setup

Now that we’re familiar with the camera hardware, it’s time to dive into the menus and configuration to best understand how to setup the camera for the needs of each job. To get it started, Jem takes us through the exposure setup, including options with iris and ISO, ND filters, color temperatures, shutter speed, lens correction, and the advanced autofocus settings. We also learn about the C500 MKII’s digital image stabilization and how it works with both Canon and third party lenses.

Custom Picture

There are a ton of custom picture options in this camera, to ensure that it can be matched with other cameras and used in the most specific production scenarios. But it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Should you shoot in BT709, Canon Log2, and in what color matrix? What are the HLG or PQ options? In this lesson, Jem takes us through the wide variety of picture settings available, while also demonstrating how to work with LUTs in camera as well as outputting to monitors.

The C500 Mark II can have up to 22 assignable buttons when using the EU-V2 expansion module, so there’s a lot of room for customization. System Setup

In this lesson we look at general camera settings, which controls resolution output via HDMI or SDI, internal card recording, time code run and sync, and lights on the camera body.
